Foreign tourists visiting Japan for the first time, especially those not on a package tour, are likely to be intrigued by everything around them and full of curiosity and expectations. ITCJ has established Tourist Information Centers (TICs) at Japan’s international gateways—at the first and second terminals of Narita Airport and at Kansai International Airport—to help foreign visitors easily obtain the information they need to enjoy their travels in Japan. The TICs offer information about sightseeing and transportation on all parts of Japan, as well as brochures and maps in foreign languages. Lodging reservations can also be made at Welcome Inn Reservation Counters located at the TICs. Specialist TIC staff also walk about the Narita Airport terminals giving directions to and providing necessary information on major sights. Many foreign tourists have expressed appreciation for the cheerful and helpful assistance of these TIC roving guides.
