General Questions

1. What is the cost of using Welcome Inn Reservation Service?
  Our service is free of charge.
   
2. Are the room rates Welcome Inns offer really reasonable?
  Welcome Inns are registered when they meet the following conditions.
- They welcome overseas guests.
-Their daily rate does not exceed 8,000 yen per Single or 13,000 yen per Twin/Double room for more than two-thirds of the year
   
3. What is the difference between a Twin and a Double?
  A Double (or Double-bed room) is furnished with one bed for a two-person occupancy. A Twin (or Twin-bed room) is furnished with two separate beds.
   
4. Can I reserve a car parking space?
  If your host inn has a parking lot or space, you can reserve it through us.
   
5. Can I leave my luggage before checking in?
  Almost all Inns accept holding luggage before check in. But we suggest that you confirm this in advance.
   
6. How do I get a map of each inn?
  You can see the map for each inn by clicking “Map” at the top of each inn’s page.
   
7. Is my personal information secure?
  Yes, we use industry-standard SSL. Your personal information including passport and credit card will be encrypted to protect data transmissions. Though your information is password-protected, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and ID.
   
8. I cannot find the accommodation at which I wish to stay.
  We are sorry we only handle our membership Inns in our organization. The accommodation for which you are looking might not be our member or may have left our service. Please utilize other channels to secure your room with them.
   
9. Is the rate per person or per room?
  The listed rates are per room by occupancy. Please carefully look at the rates and notes before you apply. The discount rate for children differs from inn to inn.
   
10. Does the rate include meals?
  Meals are not included except at a few inns. Please carefully look at the notes for the room rate and meals before you apply.
   
11. How do I get a travel information?
  We are sorry we don’t handle travel information. For travel information, please visit Japan National Tourist Organization’s website (http://www.jnto.go.jp).
   

Reservation Questions
1. How do I reserve a room through Welcome Inn Reservation Center?
  Please click on “Search by Prefecture, City, Tourist Attractions, etc” and then, select your area of interest. The list of member inns in the Area will come up. Clicking the name of each inn will take you to their page. You may click the “Apply” button at the bottom of their page. Please read the “ Terms and Conditions” and then, click “Agree” button. Your Application Form will be submitted only when you complete the form.
   
2. Can I make a reservation for someone else?
  If you are not a travel agent and are only making reservations for your family or friends on their behalf, you can make a reservation – just type in his/her information instead of your own. But please understand that we can only handle bookings for up to 10 people.
   
3. The Inn I want to reserve does not show their detailed information on their page and there is no “Apply” button. How can I get their detailed information and reserve a room with them?
  We will give you the detailed information upon your request. Please click the e-mail address at the bottom of their page for their detailed information. We will send you back their detailed information with the application form.
   
4. How do I know the status of my reservation?
  You can check the status by yourself on our site. Please log in and click the “Access my record” button and follow the instructions.
   
5. How do I change my reservation?
  You can change your reservation through our site. Please log in and click the “Cancellation/Changes” button and follow the instructions.
   
6. How do I cancel my reservation? And am I responsible for a cancellation fee?
  You can cancel your reservation through our site. The cancellation deadline and policy differ for each Inn. They will charge your credit card a penalty to based on their cancellation policy if you cancel after the allotted cancellation period.
Please carefully read their cancellation policy. If you cancel on one day before your check-in date or on the day of your reservation, or just before the cancellation period, you need to contact the inn directly. Please know that for those members who have no Internet access, we will process your request on their behalf. Since we will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays, Japanese national holidays and Dec. 29 – Jan. 3, we are unable to process your request and your cancellation request will not reach your host inn by their deadline. To avoid a penalty charge, please be sure to contact your Inn directly.
   
7. My flight reservation is not confirmed yet. Can I Reserve now?
  We are sorry we cannot accept your request because having a confirmed flight booking is one of the requirements. Please apply as soon as you have confirmed your flight.
   
8. How do I pay my room rate?
  You are requested to settle the payment directly with your host Inns when you check in or check out. Your credit card information is only for ensuring your reservation, and is not for payment. Therefore, no charge will be made to you from Welcome Inn Reservation Center.

If you make a no-show, however, your credit card information will be given to your host Inn upon their request.
